Introduction

The Australian Marine and Offshore Group was established in 1992 by our Managing Director Dr Andrew Potts and three Professors, Professor Jon Hinwood, Professor Paul Grundy and Professor Rob Melchers, to provide high quality engineering consulting services to the offshore oil and gas sector.

Over the years, the company has grown and currently provides engineering consultancy services to the mining, defence, civil maritime and railway sectors. Due to the company’s involvement in a diverse mix of market sectors, the Australian Marine and Offshore Group began operating as AMOG Consulting in 2002.

The core business of the company is to provide high quality engineering services to our clients. AMOG Consulting provides the following engineering services:

  • Marine & Offshore Engineering (Hydrodynamics, Naval Architecture, Mooring and Riser System Design, Offshore System Design).
  • Structural Engineering (Finite Element Modelling, Fatigue Assessment, Life Extensions and Upgrades, Condition Monitoring, Structural Design).
  • System Safety & Risk Engineering (Safety Case Development, HAZID/HAZOP Assessments, FMECA, QRA, Safety Management System Development and Auditing, SIL Assessment, Software Assurance).
  • Fire, Blast & Computational Fluid Dynamics (Explosion, Dispersion, Survivability Assessments, Dynamic Structural Response).
  • Physical Model Testing (Wave Tank and Flume Testing, Wind Tunnel Testing, Drop and Drag Testing).

AMOG Consulting is an AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 accredited company.
 
The Board and Senior Management
AMOG maintains a policy of including a number of Non-Executive Directors on its Board, including the role of Chairman being filled by a Non-Executive, to provide independent oversight of the Company's activities. Such Non-Executive Directors also provide valuable expertise and insights drawn from their previous careers in industry, government or academia.
